This stunning venue, set at Puuopelu, is the historic headquarters of Parker Ranch and was once the generational home of the Parker family. It’s located in Waimea (also known as Kamuela), Hawaii on the Big Island of Hawaii. With views of Kohala mountains and Mauna Kea and a bit higher in elevation, this venue is the perfect blank canvas for larger weddings on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Parker Ranch is located in Waimea, Hawaii; In the northwest area of the Big Island. It’s nestled at the base of Kohala mountain with excellent views of Mauna Kea.
What I love most about Parker Ranch for weddings is the versatility of the venue and its capacity. It definitely has a country feel to it, but is a blank space that can be decorated in almost any way. Because of that, the venue is perfect for couples who want an outdoor wedding and reception space that has been influenced by the Paniolo culture of Waimea. Plus the venue can hold up to 200 guests, currently.
The reason you want to add this section in here (even though the venue’s website likely already has some of these FAQ’s answered) is that Google likes when articles have simple questions & answers! Google can recognize when a blog post answers the questions couples would be searching for, e.g.:
What are the available spaces at Parker Ranch for weddings?
Parker Ranch is the perfect venue for couples wanting their wedding to take place mainly outdoors. There are three different outdoor spaces: anElizabethan style tea garden, the shaded front lawn, and the colorful jacaranda square and rose gardens.

If you’re thinking about planning your wedding at Parker Ranch, there are some things you need to know!
Some of my favorite things about Parker Ranch for weddings are:
If the venue has multiple options for ceremony spots, list out the different options here and include details the couple would want to know (price, amenities, size, etc.)

With Parker Ranch being nestled in Waimea, at the base of the Kohala Mountains and Mauna Kea, the weather is generally cooler with a high chance of light showers throughout the day. Kamuela is a very green town for a reason – it rains a lot in Kamuela!
May-September are the drier, warmer months of the year. Although there is still a chance of rain during this time of year, it’s more reliably dry. This time of year is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking and horseback riding.
October-April are the cooler, rainier months of the year. Canopy style tents are required for Parker Ranch weddings during this time of year. While the weather isn’t great for outdoor activities in Kamuela during this time of year, a quick drive to the Kona coast will get you to warmer, drier areas. The winter is a great time for unique activities like whale watching and seeing snow on Mauna Kea, too!
While there aren’t a ton of options for places to stay in Waimea and closest to Parker Ranch, the options that are in Waimea are fantastic! And for couples and guests who don’t mind a bit of a drive, staying in the Waikoloa resort area is another good option.
Greenery Vistas – A beautiful BnB with incredible views, located between Waimea and Hapuna Beach.
Belle Vue BnB – A smaller BnB, perfect for families
Kamuela Inn – Boutique hotel with 24 rooms, perfect accommodations for wedding parties!
Waimea Country Inn – Cute hotel within Waimea/Kamuela
Paniolo Greens – A little bit further, 25 minutes drive from the venue
Below are some of my favorite vendors to work with on the Big Island who also work at Parker Ranch.

I love love.
Cheesy, I know. But it’s the truth. I’m a hopeless romantic and for that I won’t apologize!
As a Hawaiʻi based elopement and wedding photographer, I help couples plan intentional elopement days that feel adventurous, relaxed, and true to who they are. For couples planning larger weddings, I work seamlessly with them and their wedding planners to ensure their day is documented exactly as you picture. Documenting couples on the day they commit their lives to one another is truly the honor of my life. I often have “pinch me” moments while I’m working with couples because I get to help them plan & document their most important day in my absolute favorite place in the world.
I specialize in working with couples who have prioritized choosing what feels right for their wedding celebration, even if that means bucking tradition. Whether you’re planning a simple Hawaii Volcanoes National Park elopement or a traditional style wedding, I’ll help you create an experience that feels meaningful from beginning to end.
My couples often tell me they are “awkward in front of the camera”. My approach to photographing elopements and weddings in Hawaiʻi is rooted in documenting genuine connection while helping couples feel comfortable and fully present throughout the day. Of course, we’ll capture some really epic photos, but I’ll also prioritize documenting you, your partner and your people enjoying the moments of your elopement day.
I recently got to visit and photograph a styled shoot at Parker Ranch and I was absolutely stunned by the beauty of the property and the potential to turn the venue into the perfect wedding space.
